Giant Pacific Manta Ray and Diver ©2022 Janelle Orth
The Giant Pacific Manta Ray is often accompanied by remora fish. They are symbiotic, a cooperative and beneficial pair. The remora feed off of scraps left by the manta and also remove parasites from the manta's skin and mouth. Remora can be found on many different pelagic animals. The diver can be credited with entertaining the manta, as they love the bubbles. Notice the shark at the top center. San Benedicto, Mexico.
